Getting to Calgary

Air travel. Calgary International Airport has flights to and from an array of cities across the globe, and through various airlines. When planning your trip, it is crucial that you find out if you require a visa for entry into Canada, and if so, that you follow the necessary procedure.

Ground. If you are departing from a city close to Calgary, you may consider traveling by coach. Companies such as Red Arrow and Rider Express offer routes to/from Edmonton, Vancouver, and more.

From Calgary to Banff

Calgary International Airport to Banff by car: It is a scenic 90-minute (140 kilometers or 87 miles) drive to Banff if you book a rental car from the airport. Please note that if you travel to Banff by car you will need to purchase a national park pass.

Calgary International Airport to Banff by bus: Receive a 15% discount on the Banff Airporter’s daily shuttle service between the Calgary Airport and the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity. The conference will be held at the Banff Centre. Our block of rooms is full, but rooms are still available if you call 1 (800) 884-7574 or email. Mention you are a GLAC attendee (booking ID GLA2304). The cost is $185 Canadian per night.

What to do in Banff

Banff is a resort town located within a national park, and as such, provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, paddling and horseback riding. There are also various historic and cultural venues for those with an artistic vein. Make sure to have a look at all that the town and its surroundings have to offer here!

In winter time Banff becomes Mecca for skiers from all over Canada and North America.
